Being of Iranian descent, born and raised in Tehran, my first encounter with herbs was at age 6 when my grandma sat my sister and I down to show us how she chops fresh parsley, fenugreek, and coriander for a stew. Smell of those herbs was intoxicating and so began my new favorite hobby, chopping herbs. Along side my grandma, chopping away, I was so inquisitive asking why we used each herb and what was their purpose. I immersed myself in Persian folklore medicine from age 12. After biking I would frequent Attari (Iranian medicinal herb shop). Years later when I discovered Ayurveda, I immediately knew it was my calling and exactly what I was meant to do.

I struggled with many ailments throughout my life mainly caused by my stomach sensitivities, Western Medicine had no answer for me except taking more pharmaceutical drugs. One day while in my kitchen, I was preparing lunch with fresh herbs. The aroma reminded me of my grandmother’s words of wisdom, "if you eat right and use these healing herbs with your food daily, you will not need medicine." It was time to try something different and that is when I stumbled across Ayurveda. I spent a lot of time in India learning about this ancient science, familiarizing myself with the Ayurvedic herbs. A lot of those herbs overlapped with the Iranian herbs I grew up chopping and smelling daily in our home. Ayurveda helped me heal myself, not just my body but my mind as well. After my first Panchakarma (Ayurvedic detox) in Kerala, I was a changed human being. I thought if I could feel this wonderful and healthy after many years of constant struggle, then why not others? So I decided to further my studies and obtained my Doctorate degree in Ayurvedic Medicine. I made it my life’s dream to help everyone I crossed paths with feel healthy.

My philosophy is simple, get to know your body and listen to the messages it’s sending you while living as close to nature as possible. I help my clients regain balance not only in their bodies but as well as their minds, for I strongly believe many of our ailments are psychosomatic. If we take care of the mind by nurturing, listening and paying attention to it, then most of these bodily ailments can be avoided! Ayurveda gives us the tools necessary to prevent imbalances before they even occur. In fact one of the main goals of Ayurveda is prevention of disease.

I look forward to meeting you and helping you in this path of discovery, an Ayurvedic journey that will forever change your life and help you see yourself and your body in a different light!
